Aguibou Bougobali SANOU, assistant professor in ������ý College’s Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies, has been selected as one of 25 Dance/USA Artist Fellows for 2025. The national fellowship program honors dance and movement-based artists whose work demonstrates a sustained commitment to social change. Each fellowship includes an unrestricted $31,000 grant to support the artist’s ongoing creative practice.

Ballet Des Moines debuted its performance of “See the Music (Hear the Dance)” on Feb. 20 at ������ý High School. The event, a collaboration with the Civic Music Association, and presented by ������ý College, featured a company of 22 professional dancers and live musicians on stage, including the renowned Aizuri Quartet and pianist Douglas-Jayd Burn.

The original play ‘Songs of the Scarlet and Wayback’ is a “throwback party turned time travel train ride,” inspired by Poweshiek County community interviews, student archival research, performances, pageants, and parties of ������ý’s past. A contemporary version of the 15th century morality play “Everyman,” “Everybody” explores abstract concepts through characters like Love, Evil, and Friendship.
